Cleanroom Doors
Personnel and equipment change-outs provide opportune microbes and particulate access to controlled areas. Garments, hands, and feet contribute burdens in high traffic areas. Narrow corridors highlight areas where hand-to-surface contact is common: handles, floors, card readers, panels, and frames.
Doors and entryways are indispensable when assessing cleanroom contamination sources. Improper frame fitment, seals, or material compatibility may concede performance and require consideration. For help with a specific application or compliance such as USP and cGMP standards, it's in the best interest of most facilities to speak with a cleanroom engineer.
Architectural Door Systems
Integrated or architectural doorway systems are designed per application. Less critical operations may use swinging or roll up doors when faster entry and equipment access is desired. Swing doors provide continuously sealed gaskets around the frame to prevent air leaks. Roll up doors feature cGMP fabrics and high speed motors that rapidly open and close for cart and equipment access.
For hazardous compounding or volatile processes, fire doors provide a mechanically sound barrier with UL tested rods and seals that won't fault under heat. Insulated cores and heavy duty seals prevent thermal transfer while also forgoing organic materials that spur microbial growth.
